Personal branding photography can be somewhat mysterious. There just is not a lot of it here in San Antonio or the surrounding cities. I’ve done my research, and I am one of only a couple photographers in the area that goes beyond just boring, old-fashioned, headshots and actually offers true personal branding.
What is branding, anyway? I understand that to many people branding is a big mystery. Honestly, there are A LOT of vendors that simply do not brand themselves in a way that helps them truly connect to their potential clients. Knowing who you are…your principles, values, skills, and beliefs…is vital for your business to succeed!
Next, ask yourself…”What type of client do you want to serve? Who is your dream client?”
Then, ask yourself…”Are you set up to reach this dream client? These are the basics of branding, in general. Now let’s get into personal branding.

PERSONAL BRANDING IS MARKETING YOU
A Personal Branding Bundle is for small business entrepreneurs who want to build their brand and marketplace presence through the use of professional images. The images that I can capture truly show off your unique personality and style, and are very important to cementing your brand in the marketplace, getting your ideal client, and building your empire.
A common perception is that branding is only for “those who already made it there”. Let’s be honest, a small part of that is true. When a small business owner is starting out, often they are testing different waters trying figuring out what works and what does not. As that happens, branding is usually very fluid. Owners frequently make the mistake of waiting to invest in personal branding until they have achieved a certain income, status, or comfort with their business.
Yes, it can be very, very, difficult to budget your business when you are starting out because, basically, when you are starting out you often are not making a profit yet. However, if you are able to think long term, the reality is that you could very much benefit from professional images…especially at the beginning of your business journey.
Much like eating, we shop with our eyes. So many times, we make purchase decisions based on first impressions. Think about it. Big multimillion/billion dollar companies often put a lot of time, energy, and resources into their branding. There is a reason that bottle of water looks so refreshing, and there is a reason that bag of potato chips looks so crunchy and delicious.
The human brain processes images faster than words. According to Hubspot, the brain processes visual information 60,000 times FASTER than the time it takes for your brain to decode text. Our brains can process an image in 1/10 of 1 second.
Images…images…images. Your images will affect the quality of your personal connections. Building a relationship with your customers, with your dream client, will be impacted by the image of you and your brand. Before they ever hear your message, they will see your message through the images you put out there.
Ask yourself, when have you ever bought a product without looking at it first? Less than 1% of all of your entire purchases, more likely. Therefore, your branding is about influencing the way consumers think about you and your business. I am here to tell you that personal branding images can have a HUGE impact on your business.
A headshot alone, even a great headshot, is NOT personal branding. It does contribute to your personal brand, but honestly, if your branding is only a headshot you will get lost in the crowd and your ideal client will likely never see your message. Think of the thousands upon thousands of realtor headshots you have seen in your lifetime. Have any of those images made you say, “Omg. I want my brand to be like that!” Not likely. Or, how many times have we seen a person’s headshot that was taken 20 years ago in their advertisement? People evolve. Business evolve. Branding should evolve too.
I believe in pushing a personal branding session to its very limits. I want the outcome of your images to be WHO you are as a person and HOW it represents your business. I am not touching my camera until I know 110% for sure what kind of images will fulfill your needs, who is your dream client, and what results you want to have after working with me. Together we will define your end goal before ever talking about photography.
